Larry was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Mark James Freeman and Sylvia Mary Freeman on December 15th 1955. He spent his early years in Ririe, Idaho. He attended school in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School in 1974.
On February 21st, 1975 he was wed to Lori Kay Briggs. In 1977, he began his career in maintenance and plant operations at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. IN 1985 he was hired by the Service Master Corporation. In 1986, Larry's company transferred him to Jerome, Idaho. This would be the first of several transfers for Larry, Lori and their two children; Robert and Sylvia. Between 1987 and 1991 Larry and his family lived in Mt. Vernon, Washington; Palmer, Alaska; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Laramie, Wyoming. They remained in Laramie until 1996, when he accepted a job with Idaho State University overseeing maintenance operations at the Holt Arena. Larry and Lori remained in their home in Pocatello for the remainder of their time together.
In June 2019, Lori passed unexpectedly following complications from surgery. The past several years of Larry's life were difficult du to multiple health issues. He was able to remain in his home with is 2 pet dogs and visits from his children and grandchildren until his health took a turn for the work in May of this year.
Larry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was loved for his sense of humor and outgoing personality. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, which he taught himself as an adult. He often volunteered to perform at church, work, and community gatherings; including dressing up as Elvis or Santa Claus.
Those who knew Larry will remember him for his friendly, outgoing, and often sarcastic personality. As well as his willingness to provide help and service to others as his health allowed.
Larry is survived by; his son, Rob (Tiffany) Freeman of Pocatello; daughter, Sylvia Freeman of Pocatello; grandchildren, Nevaeh Hopla, Jordan Hopla, Lexus Freeman, Bauer Freeman, & Madaliee Viles; sister, Becky Freeman and Wendy Freeman both of Idaho Falls; he is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kay Briggs of Rigby, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by; his wife, Lori Freeman; parents, Mark & Sylvia Freeman; and brother, Dennis Freeman.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
