Larry Lee Gish, 76, passed away on May 27, 2023, after an unexpected yet courageous battle with pancreatic cancer that spread to the liver.
He was born on March 21, 1947, in Pocatello, Idaho, where he was raised by his late parents, Ethel and Robert Gish.
Larry had a zest for life and found solace in his various hobbies. He was an accomplished wood carver, creating intricate pieces that showcased his talent and creativity. His love for music led him to play various instruments, filling the air with melodies that resonated with emotions. Larry had a deep connection with nature, enjoying hikes and immersing himself in its beauty.
Known for his quick wit and compassionate nature, Larry had a remarkable ability to make people laugh hysterically.
Larry worked to develop his spiritual gifts, mastering the ability to live in the moment. He wanted to make his home a place of serenity, a welcoming sanctuary to all who came there. He welcomed everyone, and strived to teach them to leave their troubles at the gate to establish their own inner peace. Larry had a generous spirit and always extended a helping hand to those in need. He touched the lives of many with his acts of kindness and his ability to bring comfort and encouragement.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Larry (Teresa) Dumas and his parents, Ethel and Robert Gish.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda Gish; brothers, Alan Gish and Delray Gish; biological children, Sundee (Jason) Stone and Jessica (Mike) Waterhouse; stepchildren, Rick Sisneros, Nikki Sisneros, Dan Sisneros, Johnny Cornwall, Ayden Cornwall, Chyra Cornwall, Tayler Cornwall, and Dustyn Cornwall. Larry was a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on June 11, 2023, at 1429 W. Walker Creek Road, McCammon, ID 83250. In honor of Larry’s vibrant spirit, guests are invited to dress in bright tie-dye attire. Larry Lee Gish will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. This gathering will serve as a tribute to Larry’s love for life and his dedication to helping others. His legacy of laughter, compassion, and bringing people together will forever live on in our hearts.
