Larry Ross Babb, 62, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, surrounded by family at a local medical center. He was born the second of two children to Clarence Ross and Lois (Pierce) Babb in American Falls, Idaho on March 25, 1947. Larry was raised on a farm in Aberdeen, Idaho. He graduated from American Falls High School in 1965. Larry served a Spanish speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Spanish American Mission comprising the entire state of Texas. After his mission he returned to Ricks College to study electronics. He was a member of the Ballroom Dance team and worked as a D-J for the radio station. Later, he continued his education at ISU where he met his sweetheart, Kristine Bullock, at the LDS Institute. Larry and Kristine married in the Logan Temple on October 13th, 1970. They celebrated 40 years together and raised a wonderful family of six children: Erika, Angela, Ben, Adam, Becky, and Nathan. Larry has worked in electrical engineering his entire life. He was the chief engineer for Channels 6, 8, and 10. He helped install the audio/video system utilized by all Idaho Universities for distance learning. He was currently employed by Scientech in Idaho Falls. Larry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved doing missionary work for the church, especially among the Hispanic community. He also belonged to the Pocatello Amateur Radio Club and the Emergency Response System (ERS) for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests included ham radio, camping, watching the Utah Jazz, but above all, the light of his life: his family. Larry is survived by his wife, Kristine Babb; children, Erika (Matt) Gunter, Angela (Casey) Iverson, Benjamin (Mandy) Babb, Adam (Tiffany) Babb, Rebecca (Matt) Wilson, and Nathaniel (Gabriela) Babb; grandchildren, Sierra, Bailey, Jessica, Josey, Cole, Kristina, Hailey, A.J., Kora, Tristan, Jordan, Ben R., John, Sam, Josh, Lexy, Belle, Chris, Hannah, Grace, Gabe, Gavin, and Gretta; and his sister, Judy (Ray) Prescott, Star Valley, WY. His children and grandchildren all reside in Southeast Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Cassidy. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Tyhee Stake Center, corner of Tyhee and Moonglow. The family will meet with friends and relatives Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, Pocatello and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
