Lariene Wetzel

LaRiene Wetzel, 99, of Pocatello, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009, at her home, just shy of her 100th birthday. She was born on January 25, 1910, in Moore, Idaho, to John and Harriet Knighton. She was married to Theo Ray Ivie who died, as well as John Wetzel who has also died, in Mackey, Idaho and had 5 children, then moved to Pocatello and lived there until her death. LaRiene was a teacher and also worked at National Laundry, Simplot, and Meadow Gold. She was one of 5 founding members of the Silver Chords and Pocatello Senior Center. She loved to dance and attended the Senior Center Dance every week up until one week of her death. She also liked to crochet, play harmonica and pipe organ. She was known as the
