LaRee Ellett Woods passed away from emphysema on Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
LaRee was born September 15, 1937 in Pocatello, Idaho to Manley David and Viola Marie (Livingston) Ellett. She attended school in Pocatello, Idaho. She married Ronald Luras in December, 1954. With this marriage she gave birth to four sons: Ron, Tracy, Pat and Mike. LaRee and Ronald lived in Eugene, Oregon most of their married life. Ronald passed away in September, 1967. LaRee moved back to Pocatello in 1968 where she met Jack Woods. She married Jack in January 21, 1969. With this marriage she inherited four stepchildren: Lynn, Susan, Ernie and Alaina. Together, Jack and LaRee had a daughter, Julie.
LaRee enjoyed dancing, playing cards, bowling, pool, and listening to her children sing. She attended all of her children's and grandchildren's activities. Her home was the center hub of family gatherings where she loved to have any excuse to use her kitchen gadgets. Her friends and kids always kidded her about her kitchen gadgets " she had every kitchen item that was advertised on TV. They called her the Gadget Queen.
LaRee is survived by her husband, Jack Woods, Pocatello; sons, Ron, Pocatello; Tracy (Melanie), Pocatello; Ernie (Heidi), Pocatello; Pat (Alaina), Pocatello; Mike (Kathy), Pocatello; daughters, Susan (James), Blackfoot; Julie (Eddie), Pocatello; five brothers, Devar (Jane), California; Jay (Dawn), California; LeeEarl, Pocatello; Ray (Ruth), California; Ed (Pat), Pocatello; four sisters, Anita Ridley, Jerome; Eva (Dee) Saxton, Arimo; Veda (Jack) Weaver, Jerome; Fern (Lester) Phillips, Pocatello; 21 beloved grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
LaRee was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ronald Luras; son, Lynn; brothers, David, Robert, Reed, Wayne; sisters-in-law, Melva Ellett, Tiny Livingston, Linda Ellett, and her best friend of forty years, Norma Pierson.
Funeral services for LaRee will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. There will be a viewing held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, May 14th and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The interment will follow the services at Mountain View Cemetery. Her funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home.
