Landon Jayce Howard Cook, 6 month son of Chad and Kristin Cook, brother of Ryker, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He was born on October 18, 2010, in El Paso, Texas, with HIE. This condition made it not possible for him to communicate in a traditional way. But Landon protruded love. If there was purpose for Landon to be on this earth, it was to bring people together, including his family closer together. People instantly fell in love with him just by seeing a picture or by hearing his story. Landon touched many hearts despite not having the opportunity to physically meet them. His mother gave him the nickname "Little Bear" because he was little, cute, and cuddly; but bear because he was so strong. He fought for a lot longer than the doctors thought he would. Landon was cared for by his father, mother, brother, and Hospice of El Paso. In addition to his family, Landon is survived by his paternal grandparents Calvin and Karla Cook of Pocatello, Idaho; maternal grandfather Howard Weed of Gardener, New York and maternal grandmother Kathy Weed of El Paso, Texas; five aunts and one deceased uncle. A funeral service for Landon will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. To 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
