LaMont "Andy" Anderson 7/12/1931-8/14/2018 Andy Anderson, 87, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday Morning Aug 14, 2018. Andy was born and raised in Star Valley, Wyoming. He was one of 9 children of Orlando & Annetta (Frandsen) Anderson. Andy served in the US Army for 2 years and another 2 years in the National Guard. He moved to the Pocatello, Idaho area, there he met and married his sweetheart of 60 years, Marlene Sortor, September 25, 1952 which was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Andy's professional life included 10 years as a Police Officer for the Pocatello Idaho PD and 35 years driving truck for Chevron Oil. Andy and Marlene moved to Auburn, CA in 1999 to be near his 6 grandchildren, where he was a School Bus Driver for Mid-Placer for 16 years. Andy loved being busy and helping people. A big sports fan, Andy loved baseball and attending his 4 grandson's games whenever he could. He was an avid bowling, and he could be found at Foothill Bowl 3-4 times a week. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were he served others faithfully. Andy had a big heart and big hands; he will be missed greatly. Andy is preceded in death by his wife; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. He is survived by a brother KT Anderson (Pocatello, Idaho); two sons Randy (Tami) Anderson, (Lake of the Pines, Calif) & John Anderson (Boise, Idaho); 6 grandchildren, Dallas (Jen) Anderson (Riverbank, Calif), Brooklyn (Mark) Holden (Issaquah, Wash.), Trenton Anderson (Lake of the Pines), Lacey Anderson (Lake of the Pines), Private Dayton Anderson, serving in US ARMY at Ft.Bragg, N.C., and Elder Trace Anderson serving a church mission currently in Bangor, Maine. Also surviving are his 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews that loved "Uncle Bud". Loved and remembered always our Grandpa A. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with family and friends visitation for one hour prior to the services. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
