Edmund LaGrand Lish, 79, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his home.
LaGrand was born on October 4, 1931 in Nampa, Idaho. He was adopted by Edmund G. and Fannie Lane Lish in December of 1931. LaGrand attended schools in American Falls. He worked for the state highway department until he joined the Air Force in 1950. He came back and farmed with his father and brother-in-law until joining the Sea- Bees in 1967. He returned to Idaho 9 ½ years later. He purchased and ran the HiLo Bar & Grill in Rockland for about a year. He joined the Operating Engineers and worked and lived in a variety of towns in Idaho and Utah until retiring in 1992. He loved his family and extended family and a good meal! He died at home from natural causes with family close.
LaGrand was married to Ethyl Beech and then later to Reba Queen. He was married to his current wife, Mable Lish for 33 years.
LaGrand enjoyed fishing, hunting, his pocket poker machine, WWE, and western movies. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
LaGrand is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mable Lish; six children; Edmund Lawrence (Gracie) Lish, Plano, TX; Kelly L. Lish, Morristown, TN; Gary D. Lish, Sweetwater, TN; Randy L. (Joy) Bird, Idaho Falls; Cindy L. (Edward) Holderby, Rockland; John K. Bird (Lisa), Idaho Falls; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
LaGrand was preceded in death by first wife, Ethyl Beech; his parents, Edmund and Fannie Lish; his sister, Annie Frost; and a son, John C. Lish.
