Kip Edward Sage

Kip Edward Sage, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother returned to his Heavenly Home on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the age of 64 due to complications of COVID.

Kip was born on October 12, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the third of nine children born to Terry and Ellie (Aldrich) Sage. In his youth he learned many lessons from his parents, six sisters, and two little brothers. He was heavily involved in scouting. Kip participated in football, track, and motocross racing throughout high school. He was the Student Body President his senior year and graduated from Lehi High School in 1975. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sevilla, Spain and since then, always loved to find someone to speak Spanish with.

Kip was a journeyman lineman for Rocky Mountain Power for 35 years where he worked in multiple locations throughout the Utah and Idaho region and was blessed with many friendships. He worked hard and took pride in delivering power to communities. On February 9, 1979, he married Teresa Cook and together they had four children: Rett, Tyrel, BreeAnn, and Seth. On December 4th, 2009 he married Debbie Jackson and was blessed to add her two children, Summer and Dusty, to his life. Kip had a love for the Native American people. He had the opportunity to serve a second mission with Debbie on the Navajo reservation where they taught the people how to garden, but more importantly, shared their testimonies of the Savior, Jesus Christ, with the Native Americans that they love.

He was never more happy than to be with family. He loved family trips and visits with siblings, children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He had a personal relationship with each of his 18 grandchildren. He was known for his leather work. He loved to make gifts from leather for friends and family. Kip loved archery, waterfowl hunting, and spending time outdoors. He loved going on motorcycle rides and taking trips. Kip was known for welcoming family for visits in his Lava Hot Springs home.

Kip is preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Ellie Sage. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; his children, Rett (Jennifer) Sage, Tyrel (Megan) Sage, BreeAnn (Romain) Foucher, Seth (Jessica) Sage, Summer (Will) Hatch, Dusty (Wendy) Jackson; his 18 beloved grandchildren; his siblings, Debbie (Lynn) Thompson, Stacey (Brian) Smith, Sandy (Dale) Carr, Conna (Guy) Chamberlain, Kristol (Terry) McBride, Terrellee (David) Hodges, Scott (Monica) Sage, Lance Sage, Tom (Ruth) Prater, Teresa Dixon, and Lee (Debra) Buetts, and their children.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 1:45 on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Lava Hot Springs Ward Chapel, 437 West Spring Street, Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by the graveside service at the Inkom Cemetery on North Rapid Creek Road in Inkom, Idaho
