Our sweet, amazing Khody passed away on Tuesday, 25-September, returning to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by his siblings and parents as he quietly took his last breath. We are heartbroken for our loss but know he is whole again, able to run and jump and talk.
Khody fought a 14 month long battle against an inoperable and incurable brain tumor. For the past year, he had not been himself due to the effects of the tumor and all the many treatments he received, including 3 separate rounds of chemotherapy and one round of aggressive radiation therapy. In the end, the tumor was too much for his little body.
He lived a life full of energy, laughter, kindness, love, mischief, and curiosity. His winning smile, cheerful temperament, and kind heart affected anyone who came into contact with him. He drew people to himself with his natural charisma and charming, happy countenance. It was not unusual for complete strangers to be drawn to him and compliment him on his smile, the clothes he was wearing, or simply his sweet personality. He was often the center of attention, thanks to his sharp and spontaneous wit and amazing dancing talent.
His courage and strength always trumped any distress or difficulty he felt. He was the embodiment of perseverance, grit, and bravery. He taught us all to smile and be kind, even in the face of difficulty.
As parents, you are never prepared for losing a child. We miss him profoundly. There is a huge hole in our hearts due to his absence. But, we know that we will be reunited with him again, when this mortal journey ends.
Khody is survived by his siblings, Kamran, Shayda, Kian, and Suri, as well as his parents Farshad and Sayde, and most of his extended family.
