POCATELLO - Kevin Curtis Jones, 63, of Pocatello, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at a local care center. Kevin was born on June 11, 1947 in American Falls, Idaho, the fourth child of Jack and Mildred Frances Jones. He attended Pocatello schools and 1 year of military academy in Chicago. He joined the Navy in 1965 and served 4 tours in Vietnam. Kevin was often assigned to the highly dangerous river patrols. Kevin was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Also worn along with the Bronze Star was a combat "V" for valor. He was honorably discharged. Kevin married Luz Lasaca in November 16, 1985 in the Philippines. Together they had a son, Andrew Isaac Jones. He also had 2 children from a prior marriage. Due to his military disability, he was unable to work. Kevin was a member of the D.A.V. and the LDS Church. His greatest enjoyment was listening to church and biblical tapes as well as talking to people. He enjoyed traveling to the Philippines where he had served in the Military Police. Kevin is survived by his wife Luz Jones of Pocatello; son Andrew Jones of Pocatello; daughter Michelle Rose and son Shawn Jones; brother Gordon (Sally) Jones of Pocatello; brother Randy (Pat) Jones of Nampa, Idaho; and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and also one hour prior to the funeral service.
