Kenneth Dale (Jack) Axtell, 74 years old, passed away April 11, 2016 at his home in Chubbuck, ID surrounded by his family. Jack was born on September 25, 1941 in Spickard Missouri to Kenneth Harold and Lois Pettit Axtell. He was raised on the family farm outside of Trenton, MO with his five siblings. He graduated from Galt High School in 1959. After graduation, he worked for his future father-in-law, D.C. Wilson, driving a milk truck. He worked various jobs until he joined the Navy in 1964. He was honorably discharged in 1968 after serving in Vietnam.
He married the love of his life, Karen Lee Wilson on October 11, 1970. They resided in Trenton, MO where they started their family. In 1974 they moved to Idaho where Jack was employed with UPRR for 31 years as a machinist. He retired in 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lois Axtell. He is survived by his wife Karen. He is also survived by his children, JD (Lena) of Pocatello, Mike (Michele) of Kuna, Tony (Christi) of Pocatello, Kristi Woonsook (Spencer) of Pocatello; five grandchildren, Stephen, Amber, Tyler, Andrew, Karlee , Destiny, Grayson and Garret; five great grandchildren, Riley, James, Risan, Adalin and Eliljah. His siblings, Charles (Doris), Peggy, Bob (Patty), Jim (Iola) and Bill (Mary), in-laws, Bob (Jan) Wilson, Steve (Belinda) Wilson, Jerry (Kelly) Olsen, and Todd (Pam) Birnie.
The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family. He enjoyed, camping, fishing, hunting, racing and working on anything that could move.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Condolences may be sent to the family online at wilksfuneralhome.com.
