Kenneth Charles Gibbs, Sr., 85, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, February 10, 2009. He was born April 19, 1923 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Lensley E. and Ruth (Barnes) Gibbs. He was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, J.R. and Anna Lou Yaraborough in Huntsville, Arkansas. In his youth he built and raced cars. He enlisted in the US Army during WWII and served in the Middle East as a tail gunner on a B 17. After WWII he served in the Idaho National Guard and was honorably discharged after serving for 25 years. Kenneth was married to Leona Erner and together they had four children: John, Kathleen Eileen, and Kenneth Jr. They were later divorced. Kenneth married Elna L. Vadnais on November 22, 1994 in Elko, Nevada. He went to work for the UPRR in 1951 as a car cleaner and worked up to a machinist, retiring in 1985. He loved fishing, hunting, and race car driving and having fun with his family. He was a member of the Aerospace and Aeronautical Union with the UPRR.
