Kelly Talbot

November 14, 1951 — July 8, 2020

"Still round the corner there may wait, a new road or a secret gate." J.R.R Tolkien

Kelly "N" Talbot, loving husband of 42 years to Sheryl Talbot and the father of six daughters, began the next phase of his journey Wednesday morning. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family members who love him dearly.

Kelly was an avid risk taker who lived a life full of adventure, discovery, and success. He had many business adventures, the most well-known being ButterBurr's Restaurant, which he owned and operated with Sheryl for 39 years. He was truly in his element while navigating the roaring white waters of a river or taking the longest route possible along a road trip to visit loved ones, all while enjoying Greg Brown playing on the stereo. Kelly had a true love for getting lost in an adventure both in real life and in his books. It is safe to assume that he is currently enjoying his extended travels through the elegant universe.

Kelly is survived by his loving wife, his daughters and many friends and family members. He shared his soul with us through his intelligence, generosity, and entrepreneurship. Above all else, he was a tremendously kind and loving father, husband, mentor, and friend. He will live on through the memories of his children, grandchildren, friends, and family members and forever within our hearts. Kelly ventured along the path less traveled and that made all the difference.

A private family service will be held. A recording of the service will be posted to the Wilks Funeral Home website as it becomes available.

A celebration of Kelly's life will be held as an open house between 4:30-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. The family asks that anyone attending please wear a mask. Due to COVID restrictions, the amount of people that can be in the funeral home at once will be limited. Please be prepared to wait outside if that number is reached. Funeral Home staff will be present to direct everyone accordingly.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
