Keith Ashby was born in Ogden, Utah in February 24, 1932 to Arthur and Inez Ashby. Keith, 81, was reunited with his beloved wife Joyce on July 24 , 2013. Keith lived his early years in the Northwest and finally settled in Pocatello, Idaho. Keith graduated from Pocatello High School in 1949. He served a mission in Ohio. In 1956, he graduated from ISU with a B.S. in Zoology. He married the love of his life, Joyce Blasius on October 31, 1957 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Keith began teaching science and math at Soda Springs High School in 1957 and at Hawthorne Junior High in Pocatello. Keith and his brother, Ervon, started Ashby Motors in 1963. After a successful career, Keith retired in 1990 from Ashby Motors, Honda Motorcycle dealership. Keith remained an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a High Priest, Home Teaching, and doing temple work. He enjoyed his time spent with missionaries and other church members. Keith took pleasure in hunting, fishing, shooting, working on cars, and wood working. He built his own home in Pocatello, a cabin in Island Park, and a motorcycle shop in Pocatello. He loved spending time with his family picking Huckleberries, shooting, and riding motorcycles. Keith was an avid story teller and always had a story to share of his childhood or Western history. In addition, he wrote an unpublished novel, Massacre: Battle on the Bear. Keith was a devoted grandfather and enjoyed spending time and pampering his grandchildren. He was also a devoted pet owner and is survived by his dog Smokie. His dogs Pepper, Pan, Scooter, and Lady preceded him in death. Keith is survived by his brother; Ervon (Sydnae) Pocatello, ID; his 2 sons: Korin (Tammy), Pocatello, ID; and Britt (Paula), Idaho Falls, ID; and his grandchildren; Ember and R.J., Pocatello, ID. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur James and Inez Lenora, and wife Joyce D. He will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the LDS Chapel on the corner of Jefferson and Walnut. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
