Keith A. Staples, 88, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from natural causes. Keith was born in North Platte, Nebraska to Arthur and Bernice Staples on July 10, 1929. He was one of fourteen siblings - one of three boys. He graduated from North Platte High School, while always holding down part time jobs. He worked at the Nebraska Experiment Station at just 14; his favorite job was at Project Bakery. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy. It was there he received his electricians training; this training got him his job at the UPRR after his honorable discharge. On November 21, 1952 he married Janet Watson. They settled in North Platte to raise a family; their three children are Daniel, Bruce and Melissa. After advancing steadily at the UPRR, to an executive position, they were transferred to Pocatello, Idaho in 1972, where the children settled. Continued advancements at UP led Janet and Keith to more moves. First to Salt Lake City, then Omaha, then to North Platte, and back to Omaha again. Upon retiring, he and Janet returned to Pocatello to be near their growing family. His interests, involved doing anything he could, whenever asked, for immediate and extended family. He was often sought out. His time was also taken up re-building their home - twice. It burned down in 1987, and 1992.His expertise was always needed in every household renovation, car purchase or financial decision that his children or grandchildren ever approached. His abiding and knowledgeable faith in The Lord Jesus Christ carried him through. That is what he wants for his family. We will see him again! Keith is survived by his wife; 3 children; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 5 sisters; and 1 brother. Please come to honor his life and share in his memory on Sunday, January 28, 2018 between 1-5 pm at the Staples residence, 4044 Mountain Loop Pocatello, ID.
