Kaye Ann Hunter

d. December 1, 2018

Kaye Ann Hunter, 67, passed on December 1, 2018. She was born on April 27, 1951 to Walter Leroy Willes and Una Mary Jenks. Kayes mother was a seamstress and cook and her father was a carpenter who built each house they lived in. So, they built and lived in many houses in the Alameda area of Pocatello. She attended Green Acres Elementary, Alameda Jr. High and Highland High School. After her lengthy pursuit, Kaye married her high school sweetheart, Todd G. Hunter on August 18, 1970 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. Kaye worked at home as a day care provider for over a decade. She then worked for the Teen Parent program at the Roosevelt Center. She also was a Teachers Aide at Washington Elementary working with autistic children. She worked there until health problems required her to change to Green Acres Elementary. Those health problems eventually forced her to take an early disability retirement, which saddened her greatly. Kaye was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in several callings. She was excited about a temple coming to Pocatello so she could attend. Kaye loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She sewed clothes for her children, things for scouting, doctors and many special requests. She also loved to cook and bake, took up cake decorating, and made wedding cakes for her kids and others. She also made candy and shared her creations with everyone. Kaye loved craft projects and was always working on them. There was rarely any time that she didnt have a project in her hands and many waiting to be finished. Kaye is survived by her husband/caregiver, Todd G. Hunter, Pocatello, ID; daughter, Michelle (Dave) Otis, Tualatin, OR, son, Jason Hunter, Hockley, TX, daughter, Sandra (Eric) Millard, Pocatello, ID, son, Shawn (Jessica) Hunter, Blackfoot, ID, son, Ryan (Aisha) Hunter, Fruitland, ID; sister, Roylene (Fred) Stewart, Twin Falls, ID; 9 grandchildren, another grandchild on the way, and 1 great-grandchild.
