Kay Johnsen

Kay Saxon Johnsen, 88, of Pocatello, passed away August 31, 2022, at Brookdale Assisted Living.

Kay was born June 6, 1934, in Pocatello, Idaho to Saxon and Tod Olsen. She was the older sister to Jean and Phil.

Kay graduated from Pocatello High School in 1952 and went on to nurses training at the old St. Anthony Hospital.

She married the love of her life, Tore Johnsen on April 6, 1957, in Ohio where he was stationed with the United States Air Force. To this union, three children were born: Leslie Kay, Kelly Ann, and Scott Tore.

Kay was an excellent nurse and kept a beautiful home and yard. She lost her sweetheart in 2019 after 62 years of marriage.

Kay is survived by her three children, Leslie Gibbs, Kelly Johnsen, and Scott (Sydney) Johnsen; three grandsons, Ian Brush, Jordan Brush, and Will Gibbs; and two great grandchildren, Melody Brush, and Ethan Brush.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Saxon and Tod; her husband, Tore; sister, Jean; and brother Phil.

No formal services will be held at this time. Family is under the care of Wilks Funeral Home.
