Katrin Kopp

October 1, 1956 — April 27, 2022

Katrin Nielsen Kopp, of Pocatello Idaho passed away at home on April 27, 2022.

Katrin was a light to everyone she met, always greeting them with a smile. She loved watching game shows and NCIS and listening to music, especially Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand, and playing games at the kitchen table. She enjoyed time with her friends and spending time at the LDS church, which was held in a retirement center. She enjoyed the people she served with, especially in the Stake Relief Society Presidency.

Katrin was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Don Tippets Nielsen, and Shirley Fay David Nielsen-Kunert, sister Michelle Atwood, and brother Kris Nielsen.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Rebeka Dewitt and husband Lee, Michelle Gallant and husband Matthew and Ben Kopp; grandchildren Sara Dula, Ky Dewitt, Braedon Dewitt, Isaiah Suarez, Zack Kopp, Sydney Kopp, and Leith Kopp; siblings Earnest Nielsen and wife Sue, Kendell Nielsen and wife Elaine, Michael Nielsen, and husband Al; numerous nieces and nephews; friends and church family members whose lives were forever changed because of her cheerful and loving spirit.

From her children:

Rebeka – “I loved every summer since Sara was in middle school, driving to Idaho for two weeks and spending time with you. I will miss those trips but am glad for the wonderful memories.”

Michelle - “I am so very thankful for all the life lessons you instilled in me. If it were not for you, I would not be the person I am today. You will forever be in my heart, and I will never forget your sweet smile. As we would always say to each other, “I love you most of all mosts”…. Love you mom.”

Ben – “I know no greater feeling of comfort than when I was a child and mom would hold me in her lap, with her arms around me, rocking her wooden rocking chair when I was in pain, physically or emotionally. That always seemed to take away any hurting for me in that moment.”

Grandchildren:

Isaiah – “I know I was constantly in her thoughts and prayers. I am thankful to have a loving grandmother like herself.”

Sara – “Growing up, we would go to grandma’s house during the summer and for a few holiday breaks. We would go to the park, watch shows, and play games. She always made sure we knew how much she loves us. Up until she could not anymore, she would send messages letting us know of her love for us, and I always looked forward to receiving those from her. Although she is no longer with us physically, she will forever live in our hearts.”

“Goodbye may seem like forever. Farewell is like the end, but in my heart is the memory and there you will always be.” – Anonymous

-          We love you mom, sister and friend, rest peacefully and we will soon see you again.
