Kathleen "Kay" Brower

Grandma Kay baked her last batch of cookies on March 23, 2014. Kathleen "Kay" Bell Brower was born on April 2, 1930 to Earl and Vesta (Jones) Bell in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.

She met the love of her life, Dell L. Brower, while growing up in Lava Hot Springs. They were married on October 24, 1948 and then sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 15, 1993. Four children were born to this marriage. They lived and raised their family in Lava, Wisconsin, Pocatello and finally settling in McCammon, Idaho. They made many friends in each of those places.

Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys and her grandchildren adored her. She was always baking up something and sharing her "goodies" with friends, family and neighbors. She had a true gift for baking and her baking will be missed.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held numerous positions in the Relief Society, Young Women's and Primary throughout the years, and was always cheerful in carrying out her responsibilities.

Kay was preceded in death by: her husband, Dell L. Brower, her parents, one brother; Leonard Bell and three sisters; Rhoda Rich, June Fowler and Joyce Stone; and a grandson, Thad Jones.

She is survived by: her children, Sheila (Rod) Jones, McCammon, ID; Deanna Brower, Meridian, ID; Shauna (Victor) Hale, Pocatello, ID; and Dennis (Rachel) Brower Kuna, ID. Her surviving siblings are Barbara Christensen, Neva Wellard; Terry Bell; Richard Bell and Judy Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the McCammon LDS Stake Centery. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the church. Interment will follow services at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon. The family would like to express appreciation for the hospice care given her by Heritage Home Health.
