Kate Chaffin

Kathryn (Kate) Marie Chaffin, 50, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Kate was born on May 29, 1958 in Boise, Idaho to Keith and Dorothy Johnson. She attended school in Boise until 1968 when her family moved to Idaho Falls. Kate married Terry Jenkins in 1975. They had a son, Shane Jenkins. They were later divorced. On May 23, 1981 she married Kelly Chaffin. They lived in Oak Harbor, WA for a time then settled back in Pocatello. She loved her family especially her three grandchildren, Taylor, Braydon, and Jordyn. She always had a special place in her heart for all animals. She took in every stray that came along. Kate and her son, Shane were baptized together in the Christian Church. She had her own special relationship with the Lord. She always had faith that when the Lord called for her, she would be placed in the loving arms of her beloved parents. Kate will be loved and missed by her family and everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Kelly, of 27 years, her loving son, Shane, her three grandchildren, four sisters, Shirley Oden, Idaho Falls, Diane Moore, Bonnie Bateman and Jody Ceynar, all of Pocatello, a brother, Ed Johnson, Boise, ID, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the family. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Mountain View Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave, Pocatello from noon to 12:45 p.m. prior to leaving for the cemetery.
