It is with great sadness to announce Kari Lynn Fremont lost her battle with Lung Cancer on the morning of Thursday, July 28th 2022 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born to David Kinghorn and Kay Dent on July 17th 1961 in Pocatello, ID. She was raised in Eastern Idaho and graduated high school in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Kari was an extremely kind and loving woman who unfortunately had a hard life. She struggled with mental and physical illness most of her life in one form or another. However, she always overcame and she never stopped fighting. Later in life she was able to overcome such issues with the Love and Strength that came from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith was strong and her family has found solace knowing that she is now resting, whole, and happy on the other side.
Kari and her younger sister Margie were adopted at a young age by Roy Long who married the girls’ mother Kay Dent. Roy was an important person in Kari’s life up until the end. She often shared stories about getting to travel around the country as a young girl with her mom Kay and dad Roy.
Kari married Dale Fremont in 1984 had two sons as a result of their union. Brian Fremont and Travis Fremont, her sons, meant the world to her and were close to her until the very end of her life.
Kari loved art and attended university to study art for a period of time. She sold her art to pay her way through school and art was always a true passion of her life. She practiced anytime she could to hone her artistic ability and later expressed art in other ways such as hair and makeup. Kari became a licensed Cosmetologist and her makeup and hair were always very important to her. Many will remember her for years to come by her bright red lipstick she wore with pride.
Kari was outgoing and loved by so many. She was a wonderful and thoughtful person who would start working on her Christmas list around June each year just to have time to make or create little works of art for her long list of friends and loved ones. Her caring nature and contagious laughter will be greatly missed by the many people who have known her.
Kari was preceded in Death by her grandmother and grandfather Marge and Bill Dent and her mother Kay Dent and biological father David Kinghorn. She is survived by her sons Brian and Travis (Sarah) Fremont, her sister Margie Hedgewood and her dad, Roy (Barbara) Long. A celebration of life will be held at a later time and will be announced soon. We invite all who knew and loved her to attend and look forward to honoring her memory together.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
