Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Karen Lu Sorenson, 70, sweet spirit, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012. Karen's loving husband cared for her at home for several years and she passed away at the home of her daughter, Tresa. She was born on April 1, 1942, to Joy Millward and Helen Harmon Millward, in Pocatello, Idaho. She was a graduate of Pocatello High School. Karen married Leonard Delon Fowler and they had three daughters. (Scott) Cindy McKinnon, of Pocatello, (David Madsen) Brenda Fowler, of Inkom, and (Steve) Tresa Daniels, of Pocatello. They later divorced. She then married Dwayne J Sorenson on July 16, 1976, and they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 1, 1996. A lifelong member of the LDS church, Karen served as a Primary Worker, Visiting Teacher, and as Relief Society President. She worked as a book keeper for Bowen Oil and Roto-Rooter, and for several years managed a Hallmark store in the Pine Ridge Mall. Karen's first love was her family. Her life revolved around her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was ever gentle and endlessly generous, caring, and loving. She had a talent for baking and cooking (you had not had a real cinnamon roll until you had eaten one of hers), sewing, crafting, gardening, and making those around her feel loved and special. Karen cared for her sick mother for several years, allowing for her mother to be able to be at home to pass away. She is survived by her husband and daughters, a step-son, (Jacki) Brandon Sorenson, of Pocatello, and her sister (Dick) DeeAnna Lewis, of Downey, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a step mohter Ruth Millward, brother Dennis Millward, sister Jenny Probart, and grandson Derik Hansen. Funeral services will be held at the Lakeview Chapel, 1440 Lakeview in Pocatello on December 22, 2012. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with the service at 11 a.m. Following the service, the burial will take place at the Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown, Idaho.
