Karen Rae Robinson

October 29, 1951 — January 18, 2024

Karen Rae Robinson, 72, passed away on January 18, 2024.

Karen Rae (Weaver) Robinson was born on October 29, 1951, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Leland Weaver and Doralie (Briggs) Weaver. She grew up in Sugar City ID and graduated in 1969 from Sugar Salem High School. She took courses at King Beauty College and enjoyed offering her skills to family and friends.

Karen met Brent Robinson in American Falls ID; they were married on October 16, 1970. Brent and Karen welcomed 3 children into their family, Shane, Shannon, and Kent. They resided in Jackson Hole WY, Rexburg and later in Idaho Falls. Karen worked various jobs to help provide for the family, some of which were the Stinker Station, Motor Vu and Sky View drive-in theaters as well as several car dealerships in Southern California.

The family made several moves, one in 1983 to Hinckley, Utah then to Chino, CA in 1984. After the death of their youngest son, in 1987, they settled in Victorville, CA, where she lived until 2021. After the death of her husband of 50 years, she relocated to Blackfoot, Idaho where she resided until the time of her passing.

Karen was very crafty, enjoying crocheting, beading, sewing and everything in between. Her love for crocheting was taught to a few of her granddaughters. Health problems didn’t slow her down as she continued crocheting baby beanies to donate to local charities.

Karen had a love of genealogy. She spent countless hours researching and organizing binders with family history. She loved visiting with family and collecting family information. She was also collector of lots of other things, with a special affinity to QVC. She may have liked shopping a little too much!

She was given the nickname “Old Yeller” due to her boisterous cheering at sporting events that her children and grandchildren participated in.

She had a love for singing and had a beautiful singing voice, which she will now be sharing with a Heavenly choir.

Karen served in many callings, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. Her answer for struggles was always, “Did you pray about it?”

She is survived by her son Shane (Karen) Robinson, Blackfoot, ID, daughter Shannon (Peter) Horne, Lucerne Valley, CA.

Brother’s: Richard (Shirley) Weaver, Brentwood, CA, Ronald (Rhonda) Weaver, Saint Anthony ID, Randall (Terri) Weaver, Rigby ID, Russell Weaver, Rexburg ID.

Sister’s: Lola (Don) Zabriskie, Dayton ID and Jena (Clayton) Moore, Idaho Falls, ID.

10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Brent K Robinson, her parents Leland and Doralie (Briggs) (Gambles) Weaver, and her son Kent Robinson.

Memorial service will be held in the spring. Time and date TBD.

On behalf of Karen’s family, we’d like to express our deepest gratitude for your kind thoughts and prayers. We have felt of your love.
