Karen Coleman, 69, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Helen and Howard Pattan and as an infant moved to Pocatello, Idaho. There were five sisters who together made their own Girl Scout Troop. On November 6, 1968 Karen married James Coleman in Pocatello, Idaho. They were married for 49 years. Karen worked as a secretary working at Farmers Insurance and then at Farm Bureau until she retired. She was a member of Tops, American War Mothers and was a member of the LDS Church. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She loved to knit and crochet. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and reading, especially romance novels. Karen is survived by her husband, Jim R. Coleman, Pocatello, ID; children, Trina Coleman, Meridian, ID, Thomas Coleman, Bakersfield, CA, Larry Coleman, Meridian, ID, Carol Sams, Pocatello, ID; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Coleman, Meridian, ID, Lisa Coleman, Pocatello, ID; son-in-law, Dave Sams, Pocatello, ID; sister, Sandy McAuthur, Pocatello, ID; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Patsy Lynch, Jean Collins, Joy Lemmons, Holly Wilson; and son-in-law, Glen Dole Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with a visitation for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
