Kai Bryan Dixon, 53, returned to his Heavenly Father on September 20, 2017.
He was born in Pocatello, Idaho on September 27, 1963 the 2nd of 4 children to Gary and Irmgard Dixon. He graduated from Highland High School in 1981. That same year he married his high school sweetheart Gina Spradlin and together they had two sons, Bryan and Eric Dixon. Also in 1981he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He served on many overseas deployments and was proud to have served his country.
In 1988 he was taught by Norris Brown and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree from Idaho State University in Diesel Electric and shortly after moved his family to Reno, Nevada to work in this field. In 1996 Norris retired and Kai was invited to apply and did accept the position of Instructor at Idaho State University. He was proud of this field of work and loved teaching it, and taught it until his passing.
Kai loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. He was an expert marksman and loved sharing this sport with many. His firearms were his special little babies and those that knew him, knew this. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Gina of Pocatello, ID son Bryan Dixon (Taycina) of Ogden, UT and Eric Dixon (Tara) of Roy, UT, his parents Gary and Irmgard Dixon of Layton, UT, brother Gerd Dixon (Kimberly), Draper, UT, sister Tanya Wiscombe (Karl) of Highlands Ranch, CO, brother Dirk Dixon of Layton, UT, grandchildren, Oakley, Colton and Cameron (to arrive in November), his father-in-law Glen
Spradlin Sr., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kai you will forever live on in the hearts of all the many lives you have touched!
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd., Chubbuck, ID, with Military Rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. A gathering of friends and family will be held immediately following the service with refreshments being served.
