Julie Ann Atkinson

September 21, 1948 — June 15, 2019

On Saturday, June 15, 2019 Julie Ann Mills Atkinson, 70, joined her eternal sweetheart and beloved parents in Heaven. She was born in Ogden, Utah on September 21, 1948 to Rex Rosell Mills and Elaine Dredge Mills. Julie was raised in Malad, Idaho. She married Willard Mac Atkinson on July 18, 1970 in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. Mac passed away in 2011 after 40 years of marriage. Julie and Mac raised their family in Fort Hall, Idaho. Their children and grandchildren are their greatest joy. She enjoyed helping at the elementary school serving the children for almost 20 years. Julie loved living in Fort Hall and watching all the animals around her home. Some of her favorite things to do were coloring, painting, embroidery, and creating beautiful things. A couple of years ago she moved to Lincoln Court retirement community in Idaho Falls to be closer to her daughters. She was a light to the people there and was loved greatly. Her family is so grateful for the love and compassionate care that Lincoln Court gave to Julie (Jules). Julie is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has a powerful testimony and loved to share it. She served numerous times in primary teaching gospel principles to the children. She loved to do missionary work and knew how to love others unconditionally. She always knew her family would be together for eternity. Julie is survived by her three children, Michelle Rae (Brian) Call, Cheri Ann (Robin) Brenneman, Jason Marcus (Kristy) Atkinson; 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; one brother, David (Elaine) Mills; and three sisters, Peggy (Steve) Taylor, Mary Sue (Ron) Gubler, and Kathryn (Ken) Schmidt. Julie was preceded in death by her parents; her sweetheart, Mac Atkinson; and her great-granddaughters, Tiffany Ann and Charity Rae Cummings. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Tyhee 44 th ward chapel, Old US Hwy 91 North, between Reservation and Ballard Roads, Pocatello, 83202.
