Judy Huff

d. October 20, 2015

Julia (Judy) Mae Sanders Huff peacefully returned home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 after an extended illness. She was born in Malta, Idaho on April 6, 1934 to Joseph Earlo Sanders and Julia Mae Horne Sanders. After losing her mother at her birth, her father remarried to Myrle Horne and moved to Hollywood, California. At the age of 10 her fathers work brought them to Pocatello, Idaho and she graduated from Pocatello High school where she was voted the friendliest girl in school. On December 14, 1955 she was married to the love of her life, Nolan Lee Huff. They were blessed with five beautiful children, Janeen, Brian, Denise, Dennis, and Melinda. With a strong love she took every opportunity to teach her children the beauty of music. The family enjoyed performing together all over the community adorned by costumes Judy hand sewed. She passionately taught her children kindness and service to others by going out of her way to help those around her. In addition to her busy home life, she held various jobs, her favorite being a piano teacher from 1955-2000, although she never really quit teaching. Along with teaching music she played the piano and organ in church and at funerals and weddings. She also loved to volunteer her talent by playing the piano at many assisted living centers, bringing love and music wherever she went. She was loved by all who met her. Judy is survived by her husband, Nolan Huff, Pocatello, Idaho. Her five children, Janeen and Richard Wilson, Bluefield, VA, Brian and Jane Huff, Richmond, UT, Denise Wilson, N. Platte, NE, Dennis and Mega Huff, Pocatello, ID, and Melinda Nielson, Pocatello, ID; three of her sisters, Sue Tubbs, Pocatello, ID, Kathryn Hendricks, Boulder, CO, Elizabeth Godfrey, Boise, ID. Additionally her family includes 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Earlo Sanders and Julia Mae Horne Sanders; step-mother, Myrle Horne Sanders; sisters, Barbara Coltharp and Joan Dutton; and son-in-law, John Wilson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11 am at the LDS Alameda 8th Ward building, 930 E. Alameda Rd. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
