Judy Foster

November 22, 1958 — October 25, 2021

Judy Lynne Foster, 62, of Pocatello, passed away Monday October 25, 2021 from complications of pneumonia.

Our kindhearted wife, mother, wonderful grandma, beloved sister, and precious friend to so many was born November 22, 1958 to Mary Elaine and Niel Maston Larson in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the oldest of their three children.

Academics came easy to Judy. She graduated 4th in her class from Marsh Valley High School in 1977. Her first job was Artic Circle with her lifelong friend Connie Judkins Skinner. She worked for various businesses including Sweetheart Bakery, Farm Bureau, Bowen Oil, Pocatello Radiology, Varsity Contractors, Pocatello Medical Center in their billing department, and Helping Hands. She retired in the Spring of 2021. Along the way she gained many lifelong friendships – roommates, co-workers, supervisors etc. These friends will miss and cherish Judy’s friendship.

She met and later married Jack L. Foster Jr. on May 1st, 1982. She and Jack were blessed with two children, Kevin and Amanda. They enjoyed going camping and fishing at the Blackfoot Reservoir, going for drives and being outdoors enjoying the various and beautiful locations found in Idaho. The family enjoyed being on a bowling league for many years, which included Kevin and Amanda participating in the youth bowling club.

Judy was an avid crochet-er. She started a business crocheting various fun and beautiful items. She would crochet special characters and dolls for her grandchildren for Christmas and birthdays. She also enjoyed sewing. She started young and would create patterns for most of her projects. She assisted with wedding dresses, costumes, formal dresses, shirts etc. (She came to the rescue on many occasions.)

She enjoyed supporting her grandkids in their various pursuits, such as 4-H, Rodeo, football, cheer, arts, baseball, softball, and crafts, candy making, and their many other interests. She always tried to be there to support them. She is very much loved and is missed by them.

Judy is survived by her husband Jack L. Foster Jr., son Kevin Buck (Mandi) Foster of McCammon, Amanda (Derrick) Tripp of Malad, 7 grandchildren – Tristin, Kyle, Madison, and Ellie Foster, Kayah, Makenzi and Easton Tripp, brother Shane (Cheryl) Larson, sister Kathy Poitra, and her affectionately called “Foster Family” Jack’s Mom – Rose Foster, sister Rosanne (Eugene) Vaughn, brother Greg (Carline) Foster, brother Tom (Monica) Foster, and youngest sister Becky (Jeff) Johnson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Niel M. & M. Elaine Larson, granddaughter Macy Foster, nephew Chance Foster, and father-in-law Jack Foster Sr.
