Judy F. Richmond

January 31, 1946 — May 7, 2019

Judy Fae Richmond, 73, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, ID. She was born in Boise, Idaho on January 31, 1946 to Roland and Fae Palagi. Judy received her education at Pocatello High School. Shortly thereafter, Judy worked various jobs raising her two boys (Troy Richmond and Leo Madrid) which she adored. She met her best friend, Bill, at Whitman Caf and they were married November 8, 1974. Judy was a homemaker for the majority of her adult life. However, earlier she worked as an adult caretaker, childcare worker, and waitress. Her customers loved her as she was always funny, entertaining, and never short of stories. Throughout Judys life, she enjoyed spending time with her husband (Bill) of 39 years. Most every day, they would go for a walk together. If they werent walking, you would probably find them at Elmers Caf having coffee or doing volunteer work. She was very strong willed and battled many illnesses from the time she born. In 1946, she had to be transported from Pocatello, ID to Boise, ID and was born 3 months premature weighing less than 3 pounds. She fought her way to good health until diagnosed with maniac/depression in her teenage years which is now called bi-polar disorder. Although this illness caused many hardships, she always put GOD and faith in the center of her life. Judy was never caught up in todays materialistic world and found happiness by being with family and friends, living every moment, and enjoying the simple things in life. Spiritually, Judy was involved with the Catholic Church and was an active member of St. Josephs Parish. Together, Judy and Bill enjoyed volunteering at The Senior Citizen Center where they would help serve lunch and visit those in need. She also enjoyed most anything creative. She would write in her journal most every day, was a talented artist, loved music, and enjoyed working in her garden. Judy is survived by son, Leo Madrid (San Francisco, CA), son, Troy (& Kristi) Richmond (Boise, ID), sister, Jan Palagi (Boise, ID), brother, Louis Palagi (Greeley, CO), sister, Monica (& Brian) Anderson (Arco, ID), brother, Vince Palagi (Boise, ID), and her only granddaughter, Jalyn Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Richmond and her parents Roland and Fae Palagi. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 504 N. 7 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho, on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10 AM. Burial immediately following at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated by the family to help with memorial expenses.
