Juanita June Davies

September 2, 1936 — May 29, 2021

Juanita J Davies, 84, passed peacefully, with family by her side, on May 29, 2021 in Salt Lake City, UT from age related causes. She had only recently moved to SLC to be close to family.

Juanita was born on September 2, 1936, in Twin Falls, ID to Sanford “Sandy” Sexton and Wilma Ingram Sexton. When Juanita was a small child, her family moved Twin Falls to a farm outside American Falls, then to Boise, while her father served in the US Navy. Upon her father’s discharge from service the family eventually settled in Pocatello, where she lived the remainder of her life. Juanita graduated from Pocatello High School, class of 1954. While in high school, she met her sweetheart, Kay R. Davies and after dating for a short time the two married on June 18, 1955.

Juanita was a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. During their marriage, she and Kay enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, golfing, and square dancing. After Kay retired in 1996, they would spend their winters in AZ, with friends square dancing, golfing and exploring. They enjoyed their years as snowbirds. But what Juanita loved the most was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching them play sports, she loved staying up late hanging out with them, she was interested in anything that they were. She enjoyed family vacations to Redfish Lake, Bear Lake, the Oregon coast, New York City, Mexico, the Black Hills, and California and other wonderful destinations. She loved to travel, and she loved adventure. She loved her family unconditionally and treasured her many friendships that she made throughout her life.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Justin) Lee, SLC, UT. Son, Tim (Susan) Davies, Green River, WY. Son in law Rick Zamora, Mountain Home, ID. Grandchildren, Cass (Michelle) Davies, Tyler Zamora, Devin Lee, Megan Jacobson, Brock Zamora, Dannon (Sean) Branigan, Hannah (Bryce) Benson and Colton (Miranda) Zamora. Great-Grandchildren, Olivia, Addison, Savanna, Kennedy, Elle, Bridger, Lucas and Kate. She is also survived by her sister, Joann (Arlen) Bybee, Pocatello, ID and James (Anne) Sexton, Grand Junction, CO and sister in laws, Francene George, Martha Poole and Betty Davies, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kay R Davies, daughter, Penny Zamora, daughter in law Cindy Overton Davies, her parents, and her brother, Jerry Sexton.
