Joyce Neary

Joyce Aileen Bjorkquist was born on September 5, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and raised in Jacobson, Minnesota. She passed peacefully in her sleep on June 7, 2019. She was 76-years-old at the time.

Her parents were Waino Bjorkquist and Julia Suoja Bjorkquist. She was the fourth of five children. Her oldest brother, Lesley "Les" Bjorkquist lives in International Falls, Minnesota. She was proceeded in death by her older brothers Raymond "Mert" Bjorkquist, Charles "Charlie" Bjorkquist and her younger brother James "Cobb" Bjorkquist, all of Minnesota.

She graduated from Hill City High School in Hill City, Minnesota in 1960 and married James Charles Neary, also of Jacobsen on December 17, 1960. They were later divorced. They had three sons, James Charles "Bonz" Neary, II; Jeffrey Allen "Acer" Neary; and Joel Wayne Neary. Joel preceded her in death on May 19, 2017.

She has seven grandchildren; Michael Neary, Ami Anderson, Dakota Neary, Kaitlin Cone, Rayia Neary, AJ Neary and Stevi Neary. She also has four great-grandchildren, Ryken Anderson, Kennon Anderson, Tristan cone and Eli Neary.

She had many nieces and nephews that she also loved very much.

A celebration of life will be held at the Taysom Rotary Park Pavilion at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019. All friends, family and people that knew her are welcome to attend the gathering for our mom.
