Joyce M. Gummersall

Our beloved Mother Joyce M. Gummersall returned home to her heavenly father July 6 2014. She died peacefully with her loving family surrounding her.
Joyce was born to Elsie and Victor E. Burton on January 24, 1929 in Bingham Utah. She was the youngest of three daughters. As a young woman she enjoyed hiking in the mountains and playing with her sisters.

She married Floyd Arthur Gummersall on June 10, 1947 and together they raised 6 beautiful children. She made an everlasting positive effect on her kids and everyone she met. She had a very loving heart and made everyone who came to visit feel like family.

Joyce was a stay at home mom who took in ironing, laundry and babysitting to help make ends meet. She also worked alongside her husband doing floor covering. She was his right hand "man".
They enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and family trips. Mom also enjoyed doing crafts with her kids and crocheting baby booties and blankets. She also loved to read and enjoyed playing games on her new Kindle… and don't forget cribbage! Family and friends fell victim to these matches daily.

Joyce considered her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren her greatest blessings and accomplishments in life. She also welcomed anyone in. Friends became family. She has left a legacy like no other.

Joyce is survived by her children, Richard V. (Marion) Gummersall; RaNae Worthen; Linda (Charles) Burrup; Nancy (Daniel H.) Germain; Laurie (Michael D.) Carlson; Sally (Wayne) Bennett; 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one sister, Odetta Enfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Colleen, one sister, Verdi Caldwell, and one son-in-law, Jim Worthen.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 11, 2014 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held from 7-9 PM, Thursday evening and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Her interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
