Joyce B James, 83, longtime Pocatello resident passed away peacefully July 6, 2010 at a local care facility.
Joyce was born August 17, 1926 to George Lewis Burback and Vera Almeda Ford in St. Anthony, Idaho. Her family moved to Pocatello when she was three years old and where she has lived since.
On October 12, 1943, Joyce married Oakley Braddon James, that marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on September 26, 1950.
Joyce was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines and the Silver Chords. She loved to crochet and made all members of her family afghans. She also loved her flowers and performing Temple work.
Joyce's family wishes to extend their heart-felt gratitude to all the friends and neighbors who helped with her extended care.
Joyce is survived by two sons, Michael James, Boise, Idaho; Tracy James, Centerville, Utah; a special grandson, Jesse James, Pocatello; siblings, Charlie Burback, Pocatello, Idaho; Verdean Scott, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Larry Burback, Pocatello, Idaho; Rodney Burback, Arizona; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vera Heltne, Red Burback; husband, Bud James; daughter, CarolAnn Sylvester; son, Dan James; son, Dale James; and sister, Arlene Kearns.
