Joy Dene Sweeney

Joy Dene Sweeney, 48, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011, at a local hospital, with her family by her side, from a lingering illness.

Joy attended elementary school in Pocatello and attended Highland High School. She later received her GED. Joy was a cook for the Senior Center for many years before she became ill and unable to work.
Joy enjoyed reading and she also enjoyed watching movies. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joy was also a collector of angels.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Brandy Sweeney of Kent, Washington; son, Jessie Sweeney of Pocatello, Idaho; father and mother, Archie and Bev Higgins of Pocatello, Idaho; siblings, Terry (Vic) Higgins of Tooele, Utah, Earl (Gina) Jensen, Gaylene (Art) Higgins Smith of Marshing, Idaho, Earlene (Pat) Henry of Pocatello, Idaho and Linda Byron of Radford, New Hampshire; uncle and aunt, Doug and Shelly Mitton, Idaho Falls; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by; parents, Earl and Deanna Jensen, and grandparents, Earl and Dorothy Mitton.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jackson, Dr. Leach and the Portneuf Medical Center ICU for their patience and compassion.
