Journey Mercedes McLean, 20, of Pocatello was born on Super Bowl Sunday, January 29, 1995 to Kaylea Wardell and Justin McLean. She left us to go to Jesus her Savior on December 24, 2015 as a result of an ongoing seizure disorder.
She spent the first 10 years of her life in American Falls. She was home schooled until her sophomore year and then graduated from New Horizon High School in 2014. She was known for her beautiful singing voice, artistic abilities, kind spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed singing in church with her friend and mentor JD Garrett, and helping with children. They flocked to her because of her big smile and wildly colored hair. She always tried to see everybody's good side.
Journey leaves behind the love of her life, Jake Rodgers. She is also survived by: her mother, Kaylea Wardell; father, Justin (Angie) McLean; sisters, Hailey & Samantha; brother, Ethan of Pingree; grandparents, Larry and Jan Wardell, Betsy (Clark) Vanek; LaMont (Mary) McLean; many aunts, uncles and cousins. This list includes the cousin she was especially close to; Dylan Wardell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent care of Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, Idaho 83202.
