Joshua “Josh” Koger, born June 25, 1980 to Ramona Ping and Charles Aikin, went to be home with Jesus and his Papa on December 8, 2024.
Josh grew up in Pocatello and American Falls, Idaho. He attended school at Bonneville Elementary, Franklin Middle School, and American Falls high School. Josh spent most of his younger years running around causing ruckus with his brothers and sister; Rick, Sean, Jesse, Steve, Kris, Cody, and Amber. He went on to have four kids who he loved more than anything (until his grandbabies came along).
Josh’s favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, camping, and sitting around the fire with his loved ones, having a beer and talking all night. He loved music, especially any country, Eminem, and Yealwolf. He was a big fan of Ford, the Broncos, and John Wayne.
In his later years, Josh became a rancher and took great pride in his cattle and the farm life he created following in his grandpa’s footsteps. His greatest joy came from being a dad, and even more so a “Poppy” to his six grandbabies (with one on the way that he was over the moon excited for) that he spoiled and cherished more than anything.
Josh was a handyman and a jack of all trades, if he could figure out how to fix it himself, he would and then he would make sure everyone knew he could fix it for them. Josh was the kind of man to give the shirt off his back to someone even if it was freezing outside and he never thought twice about it. He loved everyone fiercely but never had a problem telling you where you could stick it if he had an issue with you.
He was more than a Dad, Papa, Friend, Cousin, Nephew, Son, and Grandson, he was everyone’s superhero. There was nothing he couldn’t or wouldn’t do for the people he loved.
Josh is survived by his daughter, MaKayla Koger (Noah Bake) of Pocatello; sons, Kaiden Severns (Elizabeth Roath), Kolton Koger, Richard Koger (Kendra Wilkinson) all of Pocatello; all the children he “adopted” that his kids ran around with and that he loved just as much; his grandmother/mom, Beryline Koger of Pocatello; mother, Ramona Ping, of Blackfoot; sister, Amber Koger of Blackfoot; brothers, Kristopher Bragg of Pocatello, Jesse (Dana) Camphouse of Pocatello, Rick (Roni) Hobson of Pocatello, Sean (Keri) Hobson of Meridian, Steve (Amanda) Smith of Pocatello, Adam (Mika) Ping of Pocatello; sister, Jessica Ping; brothers, Jon (Amelia) Aikin, and Wyatt (Miranda) Aikin; and adoptive parents, Gary (Debbie) Cates of Pocatello.
He had seven grandbabies whom he loved more than anything and were his reason for living: Triston Koger, Tayson Koger, Peyton Koger, Ivey Severns, Owen Bake, Elayne Severns, and one on the way. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Brandi Koger, Kymber, Jessica Bragg, Kody and Samantha Hobson, Bree Hobson, Ashlee Smith, Hayden Smith, Bailee Spencer, Brenden Hobson, and Ivy Emory.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa/dad, Laurence “Larry” Koger; dad, William “Bill” Ping; dad, Charles “Chuck” Aikin; nephew, Joshua Koger; uncle, Lealand Aikin; brother, Colton Aikin; aunt, Lois Dalpiaz; grandparents, Lee and Alberta Aikin and Ora Iver and Wilma (Gammy) Koger; uncle, Butch; and cousins, Clayton Koger, Steven Koger and Kelsie Bloxham.
