Heaven received a beautiful angel December 16, 2013 Josephine Aldous Pool, age 88, passed away to be re-united with her husband Jim of 71 years and all of her beloved family members. Josephine was born in Downey Idaho May 31,1925 to Charles Frank Aldous & Anna Marie Lowe. She was the 6 th of 8 children. Her close knit bond with her sisters and brothers lasted her lifetime. She attended all her school years in Downey, and Downey Idaho will always be near and dear to her heart. She frequently talked about her childhood and memories there. To her Oxford Peak was the most beautiful sight in the world. She was married to James Lee Pool , on July 7, 1942 in Vancouver, Washington. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved around the country with Jim's job opportunities. They finally came back home to Pocatello in 1959. Jo worked many years in the cosmetology industry as the Manager at Fargos Hair Fashion Salon in Pocatello and was known for her beautiful " glamorous style". She also managed The School of Hairstyling until her retirement. Jo was ahead of her time in design. She created things, painted & sewed. She was a gifted talented creative artist. She loved "Bling" costume jewelry. She enjoyed wildflowers, planting her flowers, and working out back building unique birdhouses. She always had a project going, her hands were never idle. She is also well known for her famous handmade paper snowflakes. She was a caring mother and grandmother. Her example of unconditional love for others without judgement was one of her strongest traits. She loved with a complete love. Absolutely devoted to her family. Gatherings and traditions meant a great deal to her. No woman possessed greater love and commitment to the ones she loved . She was a member of the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter Day Saints and served those around her with charity. Jo and Jim were blessed with four children .She is survived by two sons and one daughter. Kirk Lee (Vickie) - Downey, Tina (Walt Gaved) - Pocatello, Patrick (Lydie) Pocatello and Rick Q. deceased in 1994. Her legacy lives on with; 15 grandchildren who adore her, 32 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was the BEST Grandma in the whole world. Her numerous nieces and nephews loved their Auntie Jo. The family gives thanks to their granddaughter Amy who cared for Jo and Jim, Access Home Health and Hospice and the compassionate supportive staff at Copper Summit Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by: James Lee Pool, husband October 8, 2013; Rick Q. Pool son, her parents Frank and Anna , and 4 beloved sisters Vivian, Verla, Rilda, Rebba and 3 brothers Clinton, Ben and Pat Aldous. On Thursday December 19, 2013 there will be a viewing from 6:30 to 8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home . Services to honor Jo will be held Friday December 20, 2013 at 11 am at the Downey LDS ward chapel. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 prior to services. Interment will take place at the Downey Cemetery following .
