Joseph Ivan Edgley

September 17, 1983 — June 10, 2013

Joseph Ivan Edgley was born September 17, 1983, in Pocatello Idaho. Joe attended school in Pocatello and was often known by his nickname "Joey". He went to Montessori, Greenacres Elementary, Franklin Jr. Highland High School, and Idaho State University. For several years Joe worked for Wes Holmquist at the Llama Connection. Joe became Wes' right-hand man, and very dear friend. After leaving the Llama Connection, Joe moved to the Seattle area for a short period of time. Joe used the metal working skills that Wes had taught him to secure employment in a metal works foundry in Seattle.

On April 22, 2004, Joe met Rebecca (Becky) Ayre. Joe, Becky, and Ryan (Joe's step-son) soon began their life together. Joe and Becky were very much in love, beginning virtually the first day they met. There were difficult times, as in all relationships, but they always worked through them together. On May 11th, 2005, they welcomed Trysten Joseph Edgley into the world. Trysten and Joe had a very unique relationship, and they absolutely adored one another. On December 4, 2007, Nicholas Anthony Edgley joined the family. He too was the apple of his father's eye.

Joe loved animals. He had his beloved Missy, the second smartest dog in the world, most of his young life. Joe, Becky, and their kids continued the tradition. He had his dog Sadie, and his cats Sancho, and Polly.

Joe was an extremely talented individual. He could do just about anything, and make it look easy. Joe always searched for the meaning in things. He routinely looked for symbolism in the vast amounts of literature he read, and always wanted to learn the meaning of life. Joe would reduce a bicycle to a bucket of parts, which sometimes remained a bucket of parts. He quite frequently took computers apart in an effort to find out how they worked. Joe also loved to fish, and there was a time he would go just about every day. He taught himself to play the guitar.

Joe left us on June 10, 2013, but he would want you to know that just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it isn't there. Joe is survived by his significant other, Becky Ayre, their sons Trysten, Nicholas, and Ryan, his mother, Christina “Tina” Wheatley, step-father Russ Wheatley, his father, Ronald J. Edgley, his sister, and best friend, Mandie Edgley, two step brothers, Russell (Natasha) Wheatley, Michael (Nikki) Wheatley two step sisters, Stephanie (Sam) Burton, and Jacque Wheatley, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The family would like to thank everyone for the kindness they've shown. And invite all to come and share in their remembrances of Joe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Rebecca Ayre donation accounts at Westmark Credit Union, and Citizens Community Bank.
