Joseph Blaine Ballard was born and grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. He came into this this mortal existence bright eyed and ready to go. Even as a brand new infant, he would raise his head up and look around. As a baby he was famous for his spiky hair, tummy crunches and giggles.
Joseph started school at Washington Elementary and then moved to Gate City. During his elementary years he had fun playing soccer and loved to tease. He attended Franklin Middle School where his love of wrestling began. After two years at Highland High School he attended Century High School graduating in 2014. He continued his love for wrestling and was team captain his Senior year. He also enjoyed participating in choir, and Mr. CHS.
Joseph loved riding dirt bikes, hunting, and camping. He also loved playing video games and spending time with his family. Joe was a big fan of dogs, homemade bread, and chocolate ice cream with extra chocolate syrup. He was very talented at piano and drawing. He was so kind to others and non-judgmental. Joseph is a beloved son, grandson, and brother. He was especially an amazing brother to his little sister.
Through his journals we are just starting to understand the deep pain of depression that he fought every day for years. He shared his feelings in the journal in the hopes that it might help others who struggle. He fought a good fight. He is gone from us far too soon. He will be watching over all of us from the other side of the veil. We love you Joseph and will be missing you until we can hold you again.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Highland 2nd Ward Chapel, 2925 Michelle Street, with Bishop Noel Anderson conducting. The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 prior to the services at the church. His interment will follow the services at Inkom Cemetery.
