Jose "Pelayo" Vicente Peña

Jose "Pelayo" Vicente Peña, 67, passed away on December 28, 2024.

Jose was born and grew up in Mexico City. He moved to the United States in his 20’s where he met the love of his life, Guadalupe Peña. They soon began their family of what is now three sons and twelve grandchildren. They spent 44 years of wedded bliss together. He lived the rest of his life in Pocatello, Idaho where he established so many friendships and relationships.

He grew up with a passion for playing soccer, a game he truly loved. He loved cheering for his favorite team, Chivas. He also enjoyed cheering for his grandkids, no matter what they were involved with.

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Guadalupe Peña, of Pocatello, ID; two sons, Erick Peña and Marcial Peña, both of Pocatello, Idaho; and twelve grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jose Alberto Peña; his father, Lucio Peña; and his mother, Tomasa Peña.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID with a viewing prior beginning at 1:00 pm.

José "Pelayo" Vicente Peña, de 67 años, falleció el 28 de diciembre de 2024.

José nació y creció en la Ciudad de México. Se mudó a los Estados Unidos cuando tenía 20 años, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Guadalupe Peña. Pronto comenzaron su familia de lo que ahora son tres hijos y doce nietos. Pasaron juntos 44 años de felicidad conyugal. Vivió el resto de su vida en Pocatello, Idaho, donde estableció muchas amistades y relaciones.

Creció con la pasión por jugar al fútbol, un juego que realmente amaba. Le encantaba animar a su equipo favorito, Chivas. También disfrutaba animando a sus nietos, sin importar en qué estuvieran involucrados.

Le sobreviven su bella esposa, Guadalupe Peña, de Pocatello, ID; dos hijos, Erick Peña y Marcial Peña, ambos de Pocatello, Idaho; y doce nietos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su hijo, José Alberto Peña; su padre, Lucio Peña; y su madre, Tomasa Peña.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo a las 2:00 p. m. el viernes 3 de enero de 2025 en Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID y la visita previa comenzará a la 1:00 p. m.
