Jorden William Breen (15) passed away on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Primary Children’s Hospital from a tragic car accident. (The machines kept working for him until Monday, December 27 so his wishes could be fulfilled by being an organ donor.) He was born on April 6, 2006, in Pocatello, Idaho.
Jorden can be described as many things; charming, charismatic, sarcastic, loving, kind, sweet, respectful, genuine, explorer, and curious. Persistent is one that sticks out with anything he put his mind to. A big one was when he was learning to ride his bike. He would tip over and get back up and try again… over and over until he was all tuckered out. After learning to ride a bike later on he was ready to learn to ride a dirt bike and ride around all the dirt hills. Jorden with his athleticism played many sports; tee-ball, basketball, soccer (The Green Dragons), and football. Football was his favorite sport to play. He played for the youth leagues, Saints, and Poky.
Jorden was nervous to start high school at Poky High School in 2020. He enjoyed being the class clown. He played football his Freshman year with his Poky team going undefeated that year. Jorden started his sophomore year in 2021 and went from not wanting to do his work all the time to as he said, “It is not that hard just do your work in class.” Jorden was really starting to think about his future talking with his school counselor and bonus mom, February, about dual credits and was so proud that he was going to be able to graduate early. As most teenagers Jorden spent time chatting with his friends and going to lunch with them.
What 15 year old wants to work? Jorden with his hard work ethic and dedication. Jorden really shined and “Every one of us noticed he stood tall, proud, and more confident after only his second day on his job” said his grandma Cindy about his job at Elmer’s Restaurant the summer of 2021. He started as a bus boy but the loving employees at Elmer’s quickly realized that Jorden was such a hard worker. When his cooking boss and friend David complimented him about it Jorden said, “I learned it from my dad.” As the workers were fighting over which area they wanted him in he was ecstatic to be moved to food prep. Jorden has always loved to cook. He wanted to be a chef one day. Jorden was able to start doing a few things in the kitchen of cooking. He started reading the recipes and remembering them, so when he turned 16 he would be ready to move to a cook. The new hires at Elmer’s were in for a treat with Jorden’s witty sarcastic humor as he would introduce himself as “Jose.”
At home he would spend time baking; he really enjoyed making pumpkin rolls with his mom Amanda. When Jorden was not at school or work you could find him helping others, working on his humor, sharing stories or adventures with his cousins, watching the Seahawks, Dodgers, or Bulls, playing football, playing softball with his RMM church team, playing video games, working and learning from his dad Cody in the garage building tables chairs and ramps, drawing, working on cars with his bonus dad Matt, or making his hair look good.
It is not good bye. It is see you later. Jorden went to eternal life to see many others he cherished in Heaven. Jorden with his golden heart and our angel left this Earth providing four other families a miracle they were waiting for being able to donate his heart, liver, kidneys, and pancreas. He is survived by many friends, family, and loved ones.
