Johnathon "Shad" Young passed away peacefully one day before turning 40 on Saturday April 7th, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Shad was born April 8th, 1972 in Pocatello, ID to Chris and Debra Young. He was later joined by two brothers, Cory and Scott Young. Shad attended Greenacres Elementary, Alameda Jr. High and graduated from Highland High School in 1990. He loved playing competitive soccer and traveling to different cities and states. He met the love of his life, Melissa Anderson. They were married and have 3 beautiful children, Kylie, Ian & Aubrey. As a family they loved going to Bear Lake, camping, fishing, having fun in the water and around the campfire at night. There was nothing Shad wouldn't do to protect his family, not just his wife and children but his dad, mom, brother and friends as well. He is survived by his wife Melissa Young, children, Kylie, Ian, & Aubrey; father, Chris Young; mother, Debra Boyce; brother, Scott Young; niece, Madison Young; grandparents Lorraine & Lovell Harrop; In-laws Ralene & Howard Anderson; sister-in-law, Cindy Anderson; and her two children, Makennah & Morgan Teel; and brother-in-law Brady Anderson. Shad was preceded in death by his brother Cory Young and grandparents. A special thanks to Dr. Burton, Dr. Holmstead, all the staff and nurses on the 4th floor at Portneuf Medical Center, the Creekside-Encompass team, and Pocatello Care and Rehab. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a fund that has been set up at SEI-US Credit Union, 555 N. 5th Ave Pocatello, ID in the name of J. Shad Young to help defray medical costs and funeral expenses. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday April 11th at 11:00am at the LDS meeting house on Cedar & Poole. There will be a video tribute 1 hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.colonial-funeralhome.com.
