John Weeks

John Edward Weeks passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2009 in Pocatello ID. John was born May 7, 1921 in Belvue, Kansas to Sara and Floyd Weeks. He was the oldest of three children and grew up on a small farm amid the golden wheat fields of Kansas. His family later moved to Topeka Kansas, where he attended public schools and worked part time to help support the family. John began college at Washburn University, but his studies were interrupted by World War II. Like so many of his generation, he postponed his education to serve his country. John served honorably as a commissioned aviation officer with the Army Air Corp, and from 1942 through 1944 piloted the 5 O
