John W. Norton

John W. Norton, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday, February 24, 2020 in Pocatello, Idaho. John was born on April 8, 1939 to Willis Norton & Hazel Waite in Zurich, Montana. John resided in Pocatello and St. George at the time of his death.

John was educated in Pocatello and worked hard in his career. He was a member of the carpenters union for over 20 years and worked as a project manager for Ormond Construction for 35 years.

He met and married his sweetheart Joann B Lish in 1961 in Pocatello, Idaho. Together they had three daughters; Julie (Sean) Mottishaw, Joni (Wade) Barker, and Janice Cotant.

John enjoyed motorcycle riding, family, boating, fishing and camping with his family.

He is survived by 10 grandchildren; Talia, Blair, Brady, Jake, Bailey, Allee, Oliver, Leah, Landon, and Lucas as well as 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; sisters, Carol Bledsoe and Betty Taylor; brothers, Willis Norton, Sherman Norton and Blaine Norton; and son-in-law, Jeff Alverson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road.
