John Kenneth Hedges passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday morning. He recently celebrated his 89th birthday with his family.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children, Sid and Marcia Hedges, Fred and Diane Hedges, David and Julie Hedges, Curtis and Mitzi Hedges, and Sara and Lance Soderquist, 23 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren, and sister, Eloise Wickel. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Hedges and grandchildren, Jeffery Paul Hedges and Sarah Hedges.
He was born and raised in Boise Idaho. His schooling at Lewis and Clark College in engineering was interrupted to serve in WWII as a B17 flying fortress Pilot. He married his sweetheart Barbara and they made their home in Pocatello, Idaho. He was successful in many business opportunities.
He and Barbara loved to dance and have done extensive traveling. His most enjoyable trips were with his children. He retired early and enjoyed fishing, spending time with his children and grandchildren, snow skiing and many other outdoor activities.
He was sealed to his wife in the Idaho Falls temple and has remained an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The family would like to thank Access Hospice for all the loving care that they gave.
