John David Peters

On May 29, 2018, a sudden heart attack claimed John Peters, as he was returning home with a few groceries, on his home porch steps. He was 65 years old at the time of his death. John was born to Merle and Delmar Peters of Pocatello, Idaho (both deceased), on March 10, 1953. John is survived by a son, Brock, (Utah); and a daughter, Natalie Killick (Nate) and granddaughter, Caitlin Killick, Pacific Grove, California. Siblings are a brother, Mike Peters (Sandy), Idaho Falls, Idaho; sisters, Karen Sieradski (Allen), Eugene, Oregon, Jane Thompson (Louis), Midvale, Utah, Susan Timmins (Patrick), New York, NY, and Becky Spence (David), Glen Allen, Virginia. Friends and other relatives will also miss this Giant of a Man with an even bigger heart. John lived his life believing in Jesus Christ and taught his children: "Love is not bought with silver nor gold; for Love is the treasure from the Heart unsold." John worked in construction in Canada from British Columbia to Toronto. When he returned to the United States he worked in long-haul trucking and retired after 38 years, with commendations for over 3 million miles of safe driving. Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho, will handle John's request for cremation, and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
