John Burwell

John Burwell Jr., 90, passed away July 2, 2016 in Pocatello Idaho. He was born February 11, 1926 in Roberts, Idaho, son of John and Olive Burwell. John was an avid sportsman. He loved being outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. His favorite fishing spots were Blackfoot, American Falls, and Chesterfield reservoirs. Growing up he enjoyed sports but especially loved playing basketball. John served proudly in the Army as a military policeman during the Korean War from 1945 to 1947. He was honorably discharged October 10, 1946. Upon his return to Idaho he met Thora Scott they were married on June 17, 1950. They established their home in Pocatello, Idaho and raised their five boys together. John was described as one of the hardest working man you would ever meet. He worked at FMC where he retired after 38 years. John is survived by his loving longtime companion of 17 years Justine "Butch" Pino, his children, Willard Dee Sr. of Pocatello, Idaho, Twins; Kim K. (Teresa) of Mackay, Idaho, and Tim J. (Florence) of Pocatello, Idaho and Flint (Sandra), of Blackfoot, Idaho, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Thora, his son John Delynn, 2 great grandchildren and 8 brothers and sisters Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, July 6 , 2016 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201 with a viewing one hour prior starting at 1pm.
