John Boyd Jorgensen

POCATELLO " John Boyd Jorgensen, 55, passed away peacefully on Friday July 3, 2009 at a local medical center.
John was born 1 December 1953 in Blackfoot. He was raised by his grandparents and graduated Blackfoot High School in 1972. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 29 years, living in Quincy, CA, Green River, WY, and Pocatello, ID.
John married Katharine Davis 1 November 1974 in Blackfoot. That marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1978.
John was a member of the Gate City Sport Shooters, National Rifle Association, and National Street Machine Club. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, shooting, 4 wheeling and his Corvette.
John is survived and will be sorely missed by his wife, Kathy Jorgensen, Pocatello, ID; his children, Melena (Aaron) Christopherson, Kuna; Lynette (Shane) Paulsen, Pocatello; Kasey (Brenda) Jorgensen, Pocatello; Trisha (Ben) Martinez, West Valley, UT; his siblings, Sheri (Neil) Potts, Meridian, ID; Lisa Nava, Pocatello; Randy (Angie) Hulse, Blackfoot; Tammy Hulse, Blackfoot, and 19 grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Parker; grandfather, Peter Parker; and mother, Joyce Marcene Hulse.
Funeral services for John will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday July 7, 2009 at the Highland 4th Ward LDS Chapel on 2925 Michelle Street in Pocatello. A viewing will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Monday July 6, 2009 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. Interment will follow services on Tuesday in the Mountainview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home.
