Joan Briney

August 30, 1942 — February 3, 2023

Joan Briney was born August 30, 1942, in Bronx, New York. She was the middle child to Rank and Rina Lentz. Her sisters who have since passed were Agnes DiFalco and Judy Fiamatta.

Joan is survived by her husband of 32 years, Russell Briney, her four children Frank DiLaturo, Rina DiLaturo-Kleis, Kathleen Farley, and Sean Farley; and her three grandchildren Michael Farley, Lucus DiLaturo, and Delilah Maasch.

Joan lived in New York until the early 1980’s and moved to California where she worked in the medical field as a CNA, eventually moving up to office manager for a prestigious doctor in Escondido, California.

In 1990, Joan married Russell, a retired marine of 22 years on March 17th in a small wedding chapel in Las Vegas. This would have been their 33rd year of marriage.

Joan and Russell moved to Idaho where she continued working in the medical field in assisted living facilities as a med nurse and taking care of her patients.

Joan loved taking care of her adoring pets which included her three dogs Buddy, Charlotte and Halo, as well as her three cats Cheeto, Rufus and Dandelion. Her favorite activity was taking her dogs for walks. Joan was an amazing cook who made the best meals for her family and friends. Joan loved to antique shop and learning the history of all the pieces she bought. She was also very knowledgeable with precious stones.

Joan passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023, due to complications of COVID and pneumonia. She lived a full life with all the good and bad, with absolutely no regrets. She loved her children and grandchildren wholeheartedly. Joan will forever be loved and missed by all that knew her.
